Ortlieb Dry-Bag Light | Ultralight Dry Bag | 7L & 12L

Ortlieb Dry-Bag Light | Ultralight Dry Bag | 7L & 12L
The Ortlieb Dry-Bag Light is a simple, ultralight roll-top dry bag designed for organising and protecting gear inside your pack, duffle, or raft kit. Built from Ortlieb’s lightweight PS10 nylon fabric with welded construction, it keeps spare layers, electronics and essentials protected from dust and splashing water (IP64). A reinforced circular base helps it sit and pack neatly, and the bottom grab loop makes it easy to pull out of tightly packed bags or empty quickly at camp. Choose 7L for small essentials and day kit organisation, or 12L for bulkier layers and sleep systems.

Choose based on how hard the bag will be treated (abrasion/dragging) and whether it’s mainly an internal organiser or your primary dry storage.
Dry-Bag Light (PS10 material) = ultralight organiser / liner
Classic (PD350 material) = tougher daily-driver for frequent use
-
Dry-Bag Light (PS10 material)
Material: PU-coated nylon — very packable, minimal weight
IP rating:IP64 (dust-tight + splashproof)
Best use: internal organisation (sleep kit, layers, electronics inside another bag)
Dry Bag Classic (PD350 material)
Material: PVC-coated polyester — tougher “tarp” feel, better abrasion tolerance
IP rating:IP64
Best use: regular packrafting storage and frequent open/close handling
-
To achieve the stated IP rating, roll the closure correctly:
Dry-Bag Light (PS10 material): roll 5–6 times
Dry bag Classic (PD350 material): roll 3–4 times
Pack Raft Australia Recommendation: Ortlieb roll-top drybags are made from fully waterproof materials. Classic versions prioritise durability and abrasion resistance, while Light versions are still high quality but prioritise weight savings at the expense of toughness. Roll-top drybags are not designed for full or prolonged submersion; however, when the closure is rolled the recommended number of turns, they reliably keep out dust, rain and water splashes. If you need true submersion protection, we recommend compartmentalising by placing smaller roll-top drybags inside a larger primary dry bag to add redundancy and improve submersion reliability.
