What’s the process for getting my packraft Serviced or Repaired?

Submit → Estimate → Post → Repair → Return

  • Complete the Service Request form above. Provide as much detail as you can relating to the service or upgrade requested. If you don’t know all the information, that’s ok, just provide as much as you can, and we’ll be in touch to clarify anything not covered in the form.

  • We’ll reply to your request within 2-3 business days with:

    • Instructions on how to prepare your packraft for sending in.

    • Postage instruction.

    • An estimate for service/repair or warranty assessment based on the information you provided.

    • If we require additional information to diagnose/quote, we may request some images or a bit more detail.

  • After we receive your raft, we'll complete a basic assessment and provide a cost summary of recommended works, for your approval, before commencing any work.

  • Please ensure all packrafts are sent in Clean & Dry. Remove any sticky tapes/sealants on applicable areas requiring repair. A $35 Cleaning Fee will be applied, if your packraft requires additional preparations/cleaning upon arrival into our workshop.

  • Standard Repair and Servicing timeframe is approximately ~3-4 weeks from receipt of your packraft.

  • Express Service timeframe is approximately ~1-2 weeks from receipt of your packraft. NOTE: Express Servicing incurs an additional $175 EXPRESS fee, which is in addition to repair costs. During busy periods or where a component needs to be ordered in, this may not be available.

  • Once all required works are complete, we will send you a final invoice. Payment is required prior to us dispatching your packraft back to you.

About Our Packraft Service & Repairs

Pack Raft Australia has over a decade of experience in paddling, modifying, and repairing packrafts. As an authorised Alpacka Raft agent servicing Australia, we provide various professional workshop repair and modification services.

Our expertise covers simple to complex repairs, modifications and upgrades specialising in Alpacka Raft packrafts, both current and older models. We can generally help with basic patching and repairs for most other brands of packrafts, just get in touch with what you’re looking for help with, and we’ll let you know if its something we can fix/upgrade.

Some of the common repair/modifications we offer at Pack Raft Australia are listed below:

General Service and Repair:

  • Professional patching for Alpacka Raft and other brand packrafts.

  • TiZip® inspection and maintenance.

Retrofit and Repair:

  • Replacement of specific parts like TiZip® Cargo Zippers and Temper Assist Valve (TAV) for Alpacka Raft, D-Ring attachments, thigh straps, backbands, and general upgrades.

  • Self-bailing conversions for most current and recent Alpacka Raft models.

  • Thigh Strap retrofit service.

Warranty Assessment:

  • New and existing customers of Pack Raft Australia can get warranty assessments locally in Australia. Fill out the form and send your packraft in for evaluation. This saves you time and international postage costs.

If you originally purchased your packraft directly from Alpacka Raft, you will need to obtain a Return Authorisation Number (RA#) from Alpacka Raft via their own warranty contact form here.

For customers wishing to undertake their own DIY field or at Home Repairs, we offer a variety of service and repair materials here and a selection of DIY upgrade and replacement parts here.

Packrafts are strong, lightweight boats, but they may require repairs that aren't covered by the warranty. Some parts might also need to be replaced with normal use or if they get damaged or misused. Here are some examples of professional repairs made by Pack Raft Australia over the years.

Thigh Strap Retrofit to older model Alpacka Raft Classic with Spraydeck - Double D-Ring installation, ladder side attachments and ankle connections.

Older style “Open Dump Valve” and mouth top of nozzle configuration as found on all Alpacka Raft’s pre 2016. This style of valve is very simple, but was harder to inflate.
