Aqua bound - Whiskey 4 piece paddle

Featuring high-angle horsepower and one of the smoothest strokes in paddles, the Whiskey Fiberglass makes all day trips less fatiguing.

Our 4 piece paddles are perfect for packrafter’s of all abilities, with the Whiskey bringing high performance in a fibreglass blade and all at only ~750grams. This paddle is super nice to use, and will be appreciated by a wide range of paddlers, experience levels and paddling destinations.

The Aqua Bound Whiskey paddle excels at mixed touring type paddling. For those packrafters looking to reduce the overall carried pack weight on a wilderness trip, without sacrificing overall performance, the Whiskey’s strength to weight ratio is hard to beat. On longer trips with open stretches of flat water, the reduced overall weight of the Whiskey also makes for a much less fatiguing paddle on those bigger paddling days.

Pack Raft Australia’s review and recommendations:

We love the reduced weight of the Aqua Bound Whiskey 4 piece 205cm paddle, and select this paddle where packed weight is a priority, particularly for trips with mixed touring type paddling on moving or still water or extensive distances to travel bike packing or on foot. The performance, feel and finish of the premium fibreglass blades are very nice features of this paddle, offering more rigidity, blade control and power transfer, over most other Nylon or plastic style blades. We find the Whiskey packs down easily and efficiently, and appreciate the carbon to carbon tubing connections on the paddle blades. The adjustable centre Posi-Lok ferrule system is intuitive, quick and easy to use, with adjustability of blade offsets either left or right (15degree increments), to suit a wide range of paddlers preference and paddling styles.

For paddlers really pushing the limits of their packrafting with a combination of strong power strokes, high volume, technically challenging rapids and/or pushy whitewater, where the external forces encountered really push the material physics of any carbon shaft paddle, our Werner Powerhouse or Sherpa 4 piece paddles may be worth considering. Both the Powerhouse and Sherpa are a good ~400grams+ heavier over the Whiskey, but are both are more whitewater focused paddles, with heavier carbon shafts and fibreglass blade construction, designed to handle additional abuse and strain when encountered.

Overall, we believe the Aqua Bound Whiskey 4 piece paddle will suit a good range of paddlers, looking for a versatile and class leading, lightweight paddle to take on their next packrafting journey.
